HISTORY

Shawano Area Veterans organizations have actively contributed to the well-being of Shawano and the surrounding communities since 1876. In 2003, the efforts of these organizations were consolidated through the formation of the Shawano Area Veterans, Inc. SAV became incorporated in 2005.
The Shawano Area Veterans, Inc. Board of Directors consists of all the veterans’ organizations, as well as multiple age groups, government, business and industry involvement, female and minority representation, and also nonveteran community members.
 

 

OUR MISSION
The SAV will support all veterans, families, the community, and Shawano Country through veteran and community education and programming, these services and facilities will be offered in a comprehensive way that promotes collaboration, while still preserving the integrity of each unique group belonging to the SAV.
 

 

OUR VISION
The Shawano Area Veterans, Inc. is a self-supporting organization that benefits all
veterans, the community, and its business and industry infrastructure, while contributing to the well-being of the
Shawano Country Communities.

 

 

Background

The SAV, Inc. is not a fraternal veterans organization, nor is it registered as a veterans organization. SAV, Inc. is actually an incorporated, registered non-profit enterprise with a participatory membership. Membership consists of representatives from the six (6) local veterans organizations;

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

American Veterans (AmVets)

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA)

and the

Veterans of the Menominee Nation
